Wireless Nets

At Forgotten Coast Technologies, we were installing wireless networks on an enterprise scale long before the consumer market came to life. We understand the differences between business grade equipment and economical home equipment. We install both in the correct environment based on network requirements such as functionality and reliability.

You may use a $10 shovel to do yard work around your house, but you would not want your business depending on it doing the job to dig building foundations. FoCoTech tests, evaluates, and uses different grades of wireless equipment as needed by our customers. We have the experience to help you determine what best fits your needs and budget.

At FoCoTech, we are experienced in using wireless technology in more than workgroup/hotspot settings. Wireless networking can be used to link buildings or sites that may not be practical or economically feasible. The average payback for this type of installation is normally 6-9 months when compared with dedicated data line rates from your phone company. And the link traditionally has several times faster throughput.

FoCoTech connected pairs of Agriculture Inspection Stations on opposite sides of interstate hiways with Point-to-Point wireless connections. This eliminated the need for a second $4000 per month T-1 data circuit to the second station. Payback was less than 3 months for the original investment, and a huge yearly savings. Your tax dollars working smarter.

FoCoTech installed Point-to-Multipoint wireless links between the buildings of a Division of Forestry Training Camp located in the middle of a State Forest. This eliminated the need to bury fiber-optic cable, thus saving money as well as preserving the pristine woodlands environment. This connected the building networks together and had the added bonus of creating wireless hotspots for students, staff, and visitors.
